Priest and Rollins felt McIntyre’s presence throughout their World Heavyweight Championship match. And just as Rollins looked set to win the title from Priest, the referee counted to two and McIntyre’s music hit.
The “Scottish Warrior” hit Rollins with the Futureshock DDT and hit Priest with a Claymore. But as McIntyre was about to pin Priest, CM Punk came out of nowhere and interrupted the match. Punk chased McIntyre to the ring announcer’s corner and hit him with a chair multiple times.
Priest then hit McIntyre with a South of Heaven and pinned McIntyre for the win.
Punk sat on the commentary table and watched Priest win. But Rollins was just as upset as McIntyre and hid to the side, feeling that Punk had cost him as well.
Priest left Toronto as champion. McIntyre and Rollins will likely look for answers on “Monday Night Raw.”
The women’s Money in the Bank match featured several dangerous slams and flips onto ladders, but none were as significant as the end of the match.
JOHN CENA ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT FROM WWE
Tiffany Stratton and local favourite Chelsea Green set up two tables outside the ring in the hope of putting one of their other four opponents through at some point.
Stratton and Green were the two competitors left in the ring and climbed to the top of the ladder, attempting to retrieve the briefcase. Stratton was on a ladder below the briefcase while Green was fairly close and on an adjacent ladder.
Stratton and Green fought, but it was Stratton who pushed Green just enough to send her off the ladder and through the tables outside the ring. Green was on the ground, and it was Stratton who held the briefcase in the end.
She can now trade her briefcase for a women’s world title at any time. The SmackDown superstar has made it clear that she has her sights set on Bayley’s women’s world title.
The odds seem to be in Stratton’s favor, as there has never been a failure in cashing in on Money in the Bank on the women’s side.
