The criminal trial of Donald J. Trump in Manhattan will be closely followed around the world. But you won’t be able to follow the debates on television.
No video transmission will be broadcast live from the courtroom. There will also be no audio feed, as some federal courts allow.
New York courts generally do not allow video to be broadcast from courtrooms, although a feed is transmitted to an overflow room for journalists covering the trial.
And cameras will be placed in the hallway outside the courtroom to capture Mr. Trump’s remarks as he enters and leaves.
A New York lawyer, Jim Walden, filed a petition with the court on behalf of a civic group and a news site requesting that daily transcripts of the trial be made available to the public, since it is not will not be broadcast.
The court generally sits every day of the week except Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
