A Caroline from the south A corrections officer was stabbed in the head by an inmate Thursday morning, officials said.
A spokesperson of the South Carolina Department of Corrections told Fox News Digital that the incident occurred at Broad River Correctional Institute in Columbia around 10 a.m.

The officer was treated at a local hospital and his injuries were not life-threatening, the spokesperson said.
The circumstances surrounding the stab are not clear at the moment.
