There was a notable missing confirmation for Friday’s Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, as Fallen Angel suffered a setback for Karl Burke and Clipper Logistics.
Fallen Angel was a shock absentee from the confirmed entries for Friday’s Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Karl Burke’s Irish 1,000 Guineas star was expected to be a major player in the Group 1 competition for three-year-old fillies.
The coach said: “Unfortunately she had a little delay in training and she won’t be able to race next week.
“We don’t know how long this is going to keep us out at this stage, I hope it’s not too serious.
“It’s obviously disappointing because it looked like it would be one of the races of the week, but it would have been worse if it had happened the week before the Irish Guineas. You have to look on the bright side.” .
In his absence, the third Curragh opera singer was promoted to favorite by the bookmakers, with Aidan O’Brien’s charge looking to return to his sparkling youthful form after this late seasonal reappearance.
Newmarket’s Guineans first and second, Elmalka and Porta Fortuna, also feature in the list of possible 11, alongside French raider Ramatuelle, third at HQ after fading late.
Chic Colombine, Content, Devoted Queen, Folgaria, Rouhiya, See The Fire and Skellet complete the confirmations.
