Piers Morgan had an extremely tense exchange on Tuesday with a popular politician who made widely criticized comments about the failed assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
YouTuber Steven Bonnell, known as Destiny, recently went on a rant full of insults against Trump and the volunteer firefighter killed at the Butler, Pennsylvania, rally over the weekend.
Corey Companion was killed after being hit by gunfire while trying to protect his family.
Destiny posted several derogatory messages about Comperatore on X following the tragedy, at one point calling him a “fucking retard.”

He also said during a live stream that he would “100 percent” immediately mock anyone killed at a Trump rally.
Destiny passionately defended her comments during an appearance on “Piers Morgan: Uncensored.”
“When you’re in a world where conservatives can say whatever they want, have whatever conspiracy theory they want, do whatever they want, and liberals are supposed to sit here and say, ‘Oh my God, this is so tragic.’ Absolutely not. Absolutely not,” he said.
Morgan suggested that Destiny had no moral ground to stand on because he was engaging in the same kind of rhetoric he had condemned when talking about right-wingers.

“You love to rant and rave like you have so far in this debate about how angry you are, how disgusting Republicans are, how inhuman they are, how they never have empathy, blah blah blah blah blah. And then you yourself are actually the exact same person that you describe. You are inhumane. You are someone who almost seems delighted that a young firefighter, with a family, a wife and children that he was protecting while he was being shot, deserved what happened to him because he went to a President Trump rally,” Morgan said.
The host then called Destiny “frankly despicable.”
The YouTube streamer denied being joyful and said no one deserved to die, but then pivoted the conversation by suggesting Republicans were “joyful” when Paul Pelosi was attacked in his own home. He also said that Republicans, because of their rhetoric, do not deserve sympathy when something violent happens to them.

Morgan agreed that the violent rhetoric toward Pelosi was inexcusable, but asked why anyone on the right should listen to a word of Destiny’s “sermons and sermons” when he engages in the same type of behavior.
Given Destiny’s concerns about attacks on democracy, Morgan assumed Destiny would denounce the attempted assassination of a former president. Morgan then asked his guest if he would condemn the recent attack on Trump.
Destiny said he would not get on his knees to beg for sympathy when Morgan again asked him to condemn the assassination attempt.

“No, I won’t. No, I won’t. Absolutely not. Absolutely not,” Destiny said, shaking her head.
“You can’t do that? See, then why the hell, honestly Destiny, why the hell should we listen to a word you have to say?” Morgan replied.
Destiny was banned from live streaming platform Kick following his posts and comments. He was also temporarily demonetized on X.
X owner Elon Musk tweeted on July 14 that the streamer’s tweets were “not appropriate content for advertisers.”
