A video link between New York City and Dublin, closed due to inappropriate behavior on both sides of the Atlantic, reopened with new security measures.
The outdoor video link between the two cities, which opened on May 8 and was taken offline last week, reopened on Sunday and will operate between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. in New York, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Dublin.
Dublin City Council and Manhattan business group Flatiron NoMad Partnership organized a live-streamed public art installation called “Portal.” They said they installed more fencing on the New York side and took steps to prevent people from walking on the sculpture and holding their phones up to the camera lens.

“Now, if individuals walk onto the gate and obstruct the camera, it will cause blurring in the live feed for everyone on both sides of the Atlantic,” organizers said in a statement.
The organizers had charged the exhibition as a way to “embrace the beauty of global interconnectivity.” It was halted after videos of bad behavior appeared on social media, including an OnlyFans model in New York showing her breasts and Dubliners brandishing swastikas.

Organizers said their adjustments “will allow thousands of Portal fans to enjoy the experience on both sides of the Atlantic.”
The exhibition is expected to run through the fall.
