Four hostages kidnapped by Hamas at the Nova music festival during the October 7 attacks have been rescued in central Gaza.
Noa Argamani, 26, Almog Meir Jan, 22, Andrei Kozlov, 27, and Shlomi Ziv, 41, were freed during a “complex and high-risk mission” from two separate buildings in the region of Nuseirat, the Israeli army said.
The Israeli military said the four men were in good condition and had been transferred to the “Sheba” Tel-HaShomer Medical Center, where they were photographed hugging family members.
Many Palestinians, including children, were killed and injured in the area where the operation took place, with images and footage showing large numbers of casualties.
Two hospitals in Gaza, al-Aqsa Hospital and al-Awda Hospital, said they had counted 70 bodies between them, while Hamas’ media office put the death toll at more than 200.
Earlier, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said that Cogat, the Israeli Defense Ministry body responsible for civilian policy in the occupied West Bank and Gaza, had assessed that there was had fewer than 100 victims.
