I’m not going to double the withdrawal, that’s all Mark:
“The Prime Minister of the Bahamas recently gave a speech on the revitalization of Grand Bahama. He called out the current owners of the assets of Intercontinental Diversified Corporation, a Freeport holding company, for failing to reinvest and for selling off various parts of the assets. He wants a world-class partner to develop Grand Bahama. Half of his cabinet attended the speech in person. This is the strongest stance a Prime Minister has taken on Grand Bahama in 50 years.
Here is some additional background reading on Grand Bahama And Freeport. The Prime Minister has two years left in office and has made revitalizing the growth of Grand Bahama his political legacy. Some key facts about Freeport
- More than 70,000 acres of developable land under the Grand Bahama Development Company
- Infrastructure to support 250,000 residents, current population is 50,000
- 25 minute flight to Miami
- Existing legal framework for a charter city, although some of the rights of the Grand Bahama Port Authority, the city government, have been eroded over time.
I hope you find this interesting enough to blog about and enjoy a post. Happy to answer any additional questions you may have.
