“Hello everyone. I just wanted to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizonand do whatever is necessary, and think about Yellow stone, this beloved series that I love and I know you love. I just realized that I won’t be able to continue season 5, nor in the future,” Costner said. said in his message.
“It’s something that really changed me. I loved it and I know you loved it. And I just wanted to let you know that I’m not coming back. I love the relationship that we were able to develop , and I’ll see you at the cinema.”
Costner, 69, who played John Dutton III on the show for five seasons, recently said he loved the show but was “disappointed” with how rumors surrounding his departure were handled by production .
“I loved the show. I loved the people on the show. I loved what it was about. I love that world,” Costner said.
“There was a point where this show stopped for me for 14 months… That’s the fact,” he said. “I could have done a lot of things during that time, but I didn’t know this (hold-up) was going to happen.”
“I read all the stories,” Costner said. “I was disappointed that no one from their side…ever stepped up to defend what I had actually done for them. There was a point where I was like, ‘Wow, when did anyone… is one going to say something about what I did in relation to what I did?’ You didn’t do it?'”
Costner said the show didn’t have the scripts for the second half of the season, making it particularly difficult for him to balance work between Horizon And Yellow stone.
“I left my movie (“Horizon”) to be on time for 5B,” Costner said. “I left exactly when they wanted me to, and that made it difficult for me. It turned out they didn’t have the scripts for 5B. They needed four more days just to finish all eight first episodes I left early to give them what they wanted We had to have a full eight, and I felt bad that the audience didn’t get 10. They didn’t have the scripts for anything else. .
