People who love iPhones, but don’t want to spend $1,000 on their next one, got some good news Thursday.
Independent coder Nguyen Phi Hung (located via Telephone arena) this week released a set of purported specifications of the iPhone SE 4 over X. The bottom line is that the new budget iPhone, which would follow the iPhone SE 2022 modelborrows many physical characteristics from iPhone13 and iPhone XR.
Specifically, the screen has increased from 4.7 inches to 6.1 inches. The screen will be OLED – and the front of the phone will feature a notch and support Face ID, which would be new to the SE lineup. For reference, the previous SE model was physically based on the iPhone 8, meaning it was smaller, had a home button, and didn’t have Face ID at all.

As per previous SE models, the rear is said to feature only a single camera lens. However, the back of the phone is said to resemble that of an iPhone XR. Other odds and ends include an A16 Bionic processor (found in the iPhone15), a USB-C charging port and a 60Hz refresh rate.
All in all, it looks like the new iPhone SE, whenever it launches, will be a big boon for those who want an iPhone, but can’t afford the cutting-edge models. As an iPhone SE 2020 owner, this all sounds great to me. Hell, I’ll take one right now.
