Harvey Weinstein could face a new indictment after prosecutors revealed more women have filed sexual assault complaints against the entertainment mogul.
Other women filed complaints against Weinstein in the weeks after his rape conviction was overturned, Assistant District Attorney Nicole Blumberg said during Wednesday’s hearing. Blumberg said women who were previously unwilling to come forward may now be willing to testify against the film’s producer.
When asked by Judge Curtis Farber if it was possible prosecutors would file a new indictment, Blumberg replied: “Yes, your honor.”
Prosecutors said an update could be provided to the court by the end of June. Weinstein’s retrial on the overturned conviction was tentatively scheduled for sometime after Labor Day in a previous hearing.

“Our main concern in all of this is that Mr. Weinstein is here in New York, so that we can prepare for his trial and that he receives the medical care that he needs,” Diana Fabi Samson told reporters during a press conference after the hearing. “And I was just worried that the trip…would impact his health issues.”
She then pointed out: “He has very serious health problems. And I think it’s also worth noting that since the day he was incarcerated, he has been in hospital.”
