Gordon Ramsay was involved in a bicycle accident this week that left him hospitalized.
The 57-year-old chef and TV host shared the news on Instagram on Saturday, explaining what happened and urging his followers to always wear a helmet when cycling.
“Hey guys, it’s Gordon, and I’d like to share a very important message with you all,” he began in a video message. “You know how much I love cycling, triathlons and the Isle of Mann etc., but this week, unfortunately, I had a very serious accident.”

His hands were visibly shaking as he continued to say, “Honestly, I’m lucky to be here. From these amazing trauma surgeons, doctors and nurses at the hospital who took care of me this week, they were amazing, but honestly, you have I have to wear a helmet.
Ramsay called the helmets “crucial” and reiterated: “I’m lucky to be here.”

“I’m hurting, it’s been a brutal week and I’m getting through it,” he said as he lifted his shirt, showing a huge bruise covering half his torso.
THE “Nightmares in the kitchen” The host also shared a before and after photo – the “before” photo showed him in cycling gear, standing with his bike and wearing a helmet and sunglasses.
In the “after” photo, only his shirt and helmet were visible, both of which were completely destroyed.

For the caption of his post, Ramsay wrote: “This week I was in a very serious accident while riding my bike in Connecticut. I am fine and did not break any bones or suffer any serious injuries, but I’m a little bruised watching.” like a purple potato.”
He continued: “I am grateful to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lawerence + Memorial Hospital in New London who took care of me and examined me, but I am most grateful for my helmet which kept me ‘saved his life. Good luck.” Fathers Day and be careful Gx. “

A representative for Ramsay did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
