Google has historically launched its mid-range Pixel A-series smartphone around this time of year (usually at its Google I/O Developer Conference, which will take place on May 14 this year). Rumors abound about the new Pixel 8A: it could still cost $499. If you were hoping to join the Pixel hardware ecosystem, there is good news! You don’t have to spend that much. Last year is still great Pixel 7A is on sale at Lowest price yet: $349. We also found some good discounts on other Pixel gear, including the Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Buds Pro, and Pixel Tablet.
The Google Pixel 7A is WIRED’s Best Recommendation for Android Smartphones for most people (8/10, WIRED recommends). The MSRP for this device is $499, and while its price fluctuates often, this is the best deal we’ve ever tracked. It offers excellent performance, a great camera system, a wonderfully bright and crisp 90Hz OLED display, and wireless charging support. It will get two more Android OS upgrades and four more years of security updates. That’s an awful lot of phone for just $350, and I haven’t even mentioned most of the smart software features that make these pixels so useful to use, nor the excellent camera system.
The Google Pixel Watch 2 (7/10, WIRED recommends) brings several big improvements over the original Pixel Watchand this is a consideration worth taking into account if you are looking for a new smart watch (this works with any Android phone but not iPhones). This is the lowest price we have tracked. It runs Wear OS, which lets you reply to and delete notifications, control your smart home devices, stream music, and track your health and fitness. Speaking of which, there’s reliable heart rate tracking, sleep tracking, EKG, and fall detection. It also helps that it’s gorgeous: it’s one of the prettiest smartwatches you can buy right now.
