Ask the average person which A-list actor should join the MCU this is already not the case, and Giancarlo Esposito will be one of the common answers. People wanted it Break the bad star has been a part of the superhero franchise for years, and it looks like they’ll finally get their wish, but only up to a point.
During a panel at CCXP this weekend in Brazil, Esposito revealed that he will appear in a future MCU project. He was understandably quiet about which one, but he described the role as being “better than you can imagine”, and one that will likely be revealed fairly soon. He also revealed that the character he plays isn’t the one people tend to imagine, which seems to be another way of saying that no, it won’t be Professor come.
Let’s assume “soon” means “San Diego Comic-Con” and let’s break down some potential places for it to appear. When it comes to cinema, the only real choices we have Fantastic Four, Deadpool and Wolverine, And Blade. We know Galactus will be part of the old, and Esposito certainly has the voice going for him, if not a male version of the Silver Surfer, similar to what Laurence Fishburne did in 2007. dead Pool is a bit trickier since, assuming the movie doesn’t just make it a variation of Professor Doctor Strange 2 manipulated Reed Richards), he could be a minor villain (for the film) like Mr. Sinister. And in Blade? Well, since he can’t just be another version of Blade alongside Mahershala Ali, the only real options we’re left with are Whistler or Dracula.
Of the candidates listed above, Galactus seems to be the most likely answer. Not only would this add to Esposito’s already significant voice acting, but it’s the role of a big bad that would likely end up reappearing in something like And if? or another movie later. The same reasoning applies to Silver Surfer or Blade, but these come with caveats: if Fantastic Four Norrid Radd appeared, it probably wouldn’t be for long since Shalla-Bal by Julia Garner it is said to be more important. And although it would be cool to see him bite his throat and wear black leather Blade, this film seems cursed and he would probably lose it as soon as he got it.
This all assumes that Esposito will likely appear in one of the films we know about; for all we know, he could easily be Norman Osborn anyone else. Let us know in the comments below who you think will end up playing.
