THE Season 1 finale of Dragon House ended with a devastating dragon-toothed crunch which shook the kingdom and sparked the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. But with this epic cliffhanger, we came to the horrifying realization that we had to wait until season 2 to find out what would happen next.
This break may have been dark and full of terrors, but thankfully it’s almost over. Dragon House returns to us on June 16, when we finally see Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and her half-brother King Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney) seriously fight for the Iron Throne.

What is the release date of Dragon House Season 2?

Dragon House Season 2 takes off on June 16 and will premiere at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and Max. The season will consist of eight episodes instead of the ten of the first season.
Do Dragon House Does season 2 have a trailer?
He has several! The first teaser, which you can look here, gives us a brief overview of the bloody war for the Iron Throne. “Many will die” Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) tells us. Knowing how things tend to go in Westeros, that might be the understatement of the century.
HBO stepped up its trailer game in March 2024, releasing “duel trailers“The first favors the Dark Team, those who support Rhaenyra’s claim to the throne after the late King Viserys (Paddy Considine) named her heir. Among them are Rhaenyra’s uncle-husband. Demon (Matt Smith) and House Velaryon, including Corlys (Steve Toussaint) and Rhaenys (Ève Meilleur). Meanwhile, Rhaenyra’s eldest son, Jacaerys (Harry Collett), hopes to increase those numbers by visiting the houses of the North, including the Starks!

The second duel trailer supports Team Green, led by Alicent, as they attempt to keep Aegon on the Iron Throne. In season 1, Alicent misheard Viserys’ last words and thinks he has changed his mind about Rhaenyra being his heir. Now, she and her allies – including her father Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) and the knight Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) – will do everything they can to fulfill what they believe to be Viserys’ final wish to install Aegon as king. The sadistic Aegon is all too ready to go to war, as is his drama king brother Aemond (Ewan Mitchell), who enjoys the challenge of facing Daemon.

Who are the new actors and characters of Dragon House Season 2?
As Dragon House Season 2 explores more of Westeros, you can expect to see a lot of new faces. Among them are Cregan Stark (Tom Taylor, The Dark Tower), the Lord of Winterfell; Gwayne Hightower (Freddie Fox, The Ministry of Anti-Gentleman War), Alicent’s brother; and Alyn from Hull (Abubakar Salim, Raised by wolves), a sailor in the mighty Velaryon fleet.
Two other new characters speak to pivotal events at Harrenhal Castle, currently the seat of House Strong. Simon Russell Beale (Stalin’s death) will play Ser Simon Strong, castellan of Harrenhal. He is also the great-uncle of Larys Forte (Matthew Needham), who you may remember for being an all-around snake. Gayle Rankin (SHINE) as Alys Rivers, a healer who lives in Harrenhal and is powerful in more ways than one.

If you absolutely need to know what happens after Rhaenyra puts on her war face at the end of Season 1, you’ve come to the right place. Dragon House has been mostly faithful to its source material so far, so I’m pretty confident he’ll continue to stick to the book after Lucerys (Elliot Grihault) dies. I will go full spoilers here, so if you don’t want to know the future of the Dance of Dragons, turn away now.
Rhaenyra and Daemon will retaliate widely against Alicent and her family. The black team will attempt to bolster their forces by finding riders for the riderless dragons like Vermithor and Seasmoke. Meanwhile, Daemon will attack Harrenhal on the back of a dragon and win without bloodshed, dealing a heavy blow to the Greens. In Fire and Blood, This attack occurs while Jacaerys (Harry Collett) and Lucerys are on a mission. Now, with the tragedy of Luc’s death fueling Daemon, it’s quite likely that the version of Harrenhal’s attack presented in the series will be more violent.
And the violence will only continue! Because Daemon’s next move in the book is among the most horrific events in Westerosi history. (If you have any doubts about spoilers, it’s now certainly time to turn around.) Using his connections to the bowels of King’s Landing, Daemon calls upon two unsavory characters known only as Blood and Cheese. They attack the Red Keep and force Queen Helaena (Phia Saban) to choose which of her sons they will kill. They then proceed to murder the son whom she does not name. The attack is Daemon’s work. fire and bloodbut given the rage in Rhaenyra’s eyes at the end of the finale, is there a chance she’ll get involved too?
As chaos rages in the south, Jace will travel north to the Eyrie and beyond to Winterfell. On his journey north, he will find allies in houses like the Arryns and the Manderlys. He will also befriend Lord Cregan Stark and win him over to Rhaenyra’s cause. So you can expect some sort of mix right from the start of Dragon House Season 2. On the one hand, we get the Starks back. On the other hand, we are seeing more traumatic child murders.
Prepare yourselves, dear viewers: our wait may be long, but the next Dance will be one hell of a jig.
