US Capitol Police announced that a small bag of cocaine had been discovered in a “high traffic” corridor of its headquarters.
In a statement Wednesday, the agency said that around 1 p.m., a bag approximately one inch by one inch filled with a “white powdery substance” was discovered in the middle of the U.S. Capitol Police floor (USCP). Headquarter in Washington DC.
The USCP said the substance field tested positive for cocaine.

Cocaine was found on the second floor of USCP headquarters in an area used to store furniture and other supplies.
The USCP said the corridor was frequented by various contractors and employees and was also near prisoner processing, crime scene, intelligence and report processing offices.

A police officer found the bag “in the middle of the floor” and immediately reported it to a supervisor, the USCP said.
The USCP announced that it had opened an investigation and would test the residue further and perform DNA testing on the bag.
