The Vancouver Canucks signed goaltender Arturs Silovs to a two-year deal on Tuesday.
Silovs, 23, went 3-0-1 with a 2.47 goals-against average and .881 save percentage with the Canucks in 2023-24.
He also posted a 16-11-6 record with a 2.74 goals-against average and .907 save percentage in 34 games with AHL affiliate Abbotsford.
“Arturs was a great help to us last year as he continues to grow and develop as a goaltender,” said general manager Patrick Allvin. “We expect him to come into training camp and compete for a full-time role with the big club. Our group will continue to work with him to help him hone his skills and provide him with all the tools necessary to take the next step in his young career.”
Terms of the Latvia native’s deal were not disclosed, but multiple reports indicate he has an average annual value of $850,000.
Vancouver drafted Silovs in the sixth round in 2019 and he made his NHL debut in 2022-23, going 3-2-0 with a 2.75 goals-against average and .908 save percentage.
