New themed stays are coming to Airbnb with Icons, a new accommodation category offering unique experiences inspired by major icons in music, film, television, art, sports and more.
There will be 11 experiments for 2024; the list includes Disney-inspired stays that will take you to Westchester, New York to stay in the X-Men ’97 X-Mansion and New Mexico will float among the clouds Pixar Up House. “Icons take you to worlds that have only existed in your imagination, until now,” said Brian Chesky, co-founder and CEO of Airbnb, in a press release. “As life becomes more and more digital, we strive to bring more magic into the real world. With Icons, we have created the most extraordinary experiences on Earth.
The icons will be featured in their own category on the Airbnb website. Most Icons will either be free or priced under $100 per guest, but you can’t book them like a regular Airbnb. There will be a countdown until each icon goes live, and customers can request to book through the app. Selected lucky guests will receive a digital golden ticket, and there will be more than 4,000 tickets available in 2024.
