They have been engaged in low-intensity hostilities for more than eight months.
Israel’s assassination of one of Hezbollah’s top commanders last week, however, led to an escalation.
US President Joe Biden has sent a special envoy to the region, hoping to defuse tensions and prevent wider conflict.
