ABC News reports missiles hit a target in Iran, while Iranian state television reports explosions in Isfahan.
Israeli missiles hit a site in Iran, according to American television channel ABC News, citing an unnamed senior American official.
Iranian state television reported explosions in Isfahan, as air defenses were activated and flights in several areas, including Tehran and Isfahan, were suspended.
No casualties have been reported. There has also been no official response from Iran.
Israel has vowed to respond after Iran launched a barrage of drones and missiles on the country last Saturday, after a suspected Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus killed a high-ranking commander.
Explosions have also been reported in Syria and Iraq.
The United States and a number of European countries have called on Israel not to respond to the Iranian attack.
Isfahan is considered a city of strategic importance and hosts several important sites, including military research and development sites, as well as bases. The nearby town of Natanz is home to one of Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites.
Commercial flights began diverting their routes early Friday morning over western Iran without explanation, with Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency saying “explosions” were heard above from the city of Isfahan.
