representative Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) fired back Tucker Carlson with a reminder of one of his most embarrassing moments after the right-wing video host attacked him on social media.
“Why do the reddest states produce the stupidest, most liberal Republicans?” Carlson tweeted. “Why don’t John Cornyn and Dan Crenshaw bag groceries at Walmart?” »
Crenshaw fired back:
It was a stark reminder of Carlson’s widely mocked trip to Russia, where he visited a Moscow supermarket and I marveled at such things as a shopping cart returns system, like those you can find at almost every Aldi in the United States.
Carlson, a longtime apologist for Vladimir Putintraveled the country for an interview with the Russian leader who was so sweet Putin himself made fun of Carlson for this.
Carlson was criticized by people on both sides of the aisle over his visit.
“The Soviets had a term for people like Tucker: useful idiots,” said another Republican lawmaker, Sen. Thomas Tillis (RN.C.), said at the time.
Crenshaw and Carlson have faced each other before. Last week, Crenshaw torched Carlson as “a cowardly, ignorant, shit-filled elitist.”
Carlson, who admitted to lying on his show when he was in Fox Newswas once the leading host on cable television as he peddled racist conspiracy theories And anti-immigration rhetoric. He and Fox News parted ways shortly after the conservative network agreed to pay $787.5 million to Dominion Voting Systems to settle a defamation lawsuit over unfounded claims in its broadcasts regarding 2020 election fraud.
