Jennifer Love Hewitt has shared the bizarre method she uses to prepare for filming dramatic scenes in her film and TV projects.
During a recent interview with E! News, the 45-year-old actress explained that watching a unique type of Internet content helps her release her emotions.
“I like watching pimple-popping videos,” the “9-1-1” star said.
She continued, “Because it’s really nice A and B, it doesn’t disrupt my headspace. It doesn’t take me out of the drama headspace and into a happier headspace.”
Before filming sad scenes, Hewitt told the outlet that she avoided looking at photos of her three children because seeing them provoked the opposite reaction in her.
“I have a hard time looking at pictures of my kids while I’m crying because it makes me really happy,” she said. “So I tend to watch pimple videos.”
THE Actress from “I Know What You Did Last Summer” shares daughter Autumn, 10, and sons Atticus, 8, and Aidan, 2, with husband Brian Hallisay.
Hewitt also shared other techniques that helped her play emotional scenes.
“I listen to a lot of music to get in the mood,” she said, “And then I just try to keep it light for me in between.”
The Texas native shared that coming home to Autumn, Atticus and Aidan helps her let go of all the negative emotions she channeled while filming more dramatic films.
“Honestly, dramatic things have gotten easier for me since I had kids,” Hewitt said. “Because I have a better balance now between going to work and being sort of dramatic and doing all that stuff and then the second I walk in the door it’s like you just have to be silly.”
“So it puts me in a good mood right away,” she said.
