Tempers reached a boiling point during a match between the Philadelphia Phillies and the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday.
The Phillies entered the game with the best record in the Major League Baseball. But, during one particular appearance at the plate, one of their best players – Bryce Harper – became visibly upset after being hit by a pair of fastballs.
The players came out of their respective dugouts after Giants pitcher Kyle Harrison threw consecutive fastballs high and inside.

No punches were thrown during this chaotic moment. No player was ejected from the match after the benches were cleared.
Harper avoided the dust and stayed close to home plate at Oracle Park. He later clarified that the throws didn’t really make him crazy, but that he just didn’t want to be hit.
“He didn’t mean it,” Harper said after the game. “I didn’t want to get hit in the face anymore. That’s about it… You get hit in the face, man, it’s no fun. That’s about it.”
Harrison also noted that he didn’t intend to hit Harper, he just wanted to record a takedown.
“I would have gone home. Why not, you know?” » Harrison said, via NBC Sports Giants. “We’re trying to get guys out, and that’s a place I thought I could get him out. It might have leaked a little too (far), but I’m really just focusing on the baseball side and trying simply execute, and that’s it.”
