A police officer and a sheriff’s deputy At New York were shot dead Sunday evening in the city of Salina, according to authorities.
Onondaga County Sheriff Tobias Shelley identified the two men as a deputy from his department and a Syracuse police officer, according to WSYR-TV. Their names have not been released.
The suspect was also killed in the incident, the media outlet said.
The shooting took place at a home in the Darien Drive area around 8:15 p.m. Sunday.
Officers were originally responding to a report of a stolen vehicle in Syracuse, which ultimately led them to the Salina home.

THE sheriff’s office waiting for a warrant to search the house.
Shelley said there was no direct threat to the community and the area was safe.
