Hi, thanks for finding your way to this blog post. My name is Beatrice, Marketing Manager for TikTok and Pinterest, but my path wasn’t exactly a straight line.
I’ve actually held several positions at Kilo Health and learned a few lessons along the way. Ready to join me for some tips and tricks? Let’s do it.
What Brought Me to Social Media Marketing
I could write an essay about my travels, but let me give you a brief overview of how it all started: After my first year at university, I took the opportunity to participate in the “Work and travel”: venturing into a small town in the United States.
Yet my adventurous spirit wanted even more thrills. So after graduating, I decided to explore New Zealand for a year, followed by another year in Australia. And let me add that I always look for the best cappuccino and never forget to watch the sunset wherever I go.
But being in Lithuania, I realized that I would like to use my skills beyond customer service jobs. I was craving something more challenging and I found it here.
However, my journey into social media marketing started right back in college. I started working in a casting agency, so video formats and visual representation have always been close to me.
Then, as I traveled the world, I started posting photos of my travels on social media: stunning American national parks, Canadian mountains and so much more. I got a lot of attention, so social media took the spotlight. Later, I started freelancing with brands and worked at an agency, so everything fell into place.
After a long journey, I now hold the position of Marketing Lead of TikTok at Kilo Health.
Key aspects of content strategy for social media
When approaching the development of a content strategy for social media platforms, a lot of research and consideration is required. First, you get to know the product and its qualities, then you study the market and competitors and start thinking.
I always say that the best tool in my work is social media itself. The more you scroll, the more inspiration you can get. I find so many interesting pieces that inspire my own content.
Additionally, working with paid social media ads is a tricky thing, but there are a few rules that help simplify the idea.
For example, you need to know your audience and what works best for them. Understand how they live and what problems they face, and use your ad to try to show how your product can help solve them.
So here is the process:
My team conducts research and brainstorms ideas. Then we film the content, usually in the office where all the necessary tools are available. If the content is more complex or requires English-speaking people, we order it from the content creators, edit it, then publish it.
I am very lucky to have my team by my side. I am surrounded by creative, responsive and responsive people who come up with the best and most original ideas.
How to attract attention and create trends
Nowadays, everyone strives to express their opinion on social media, so we try to make sure that they can do so. When it comes to organic accounts, you will always get the best reactions if you do something unexpected.
We all love aesthetics and visually appealing video content, but the only way to grab the attention of people scrolling is to make them pause for a second and think, “what just happened?” » I’m a big fan of aesthetics myself, but what I’ve learned in this business is that what’s beautiful to the eye doesn’t always sell or get a reaction from the share of our target audiences.
A very simple recipe for following trends is to scroll, scroll, scroll.
Additionally, you always need to know the context of the world. Take the “Met Gala,” for example: it happened, and the next morning, everyone was talking about it. Who knows, if you’re quick and creative enough, you might even start a trend. Sometimes the most unexpected videos spark trends, so luck plays a big role.
A look towards the future
Looking at future predictions, video content will definitely continue to dominate social media platforms. AR and VR technologies will be further integrated into social media platforms, providing users with immersive experiences.
The popularity of ephemeral content, such as Stories, will continue to increase as users appreciate the temporary nature of these posts. Social commerce will become even more prevalent, with all platforms integrating shopping features directly into their user experience.
Influencers will disappear and simple content creators will take their place. Everyone tends to trust someone who is like us more than an unrelated person with a fancy lifestyle.
Final Thoughts
I really learned that you can’t be too personal when creating content. What is nice and enjoyable to look at can be completely boring to your audience. So, you must become one of them.
Moreover, it really depends on the products and people’s psychology; If you sell health products, know that people will be looking for them in early spring or right after the new year. We all have New Year’s resolutions, don’t we? So it’s not just about marketing – I think the only way to succeed here is to become a bit of a psychologist.
You need to understand your audience and communicate with them. As a brand, it’s best to listen to what they want, sometimes even ask and create a conversation.
And that’s all for now. I’m going to watch the sunset. I hope you gained some useful tips from this article!
