Dozen of Donald Trump supporters in North Carolina were surprised to find their vehicles had been towed after apparently getting permission to park in a Dunkin’ lot during a campaign rally Wednesday.
THE Rally in Charlotte It was the former president’s first public campaign event since President Biden withdrew from the 2024 race and following the assassination attempt on Trump.
The secret service reportedly recommended against holding any more outdoor rallies for the former president after the assassination attempt.
After the rally ended, the drivers were shocked to find that their vehicles had been towed.

Drivers told WBTV that the Dunkin’ manager allowed them to leave their cars in the parking lot during the rally; however, when asked, they said several people were told they couldn’t park there and that signs on the property stated that parking was prohibited for non-customers.
Tow trucks reportedly arrived and began recovering vehicles from the parking lot during the rally.
“The building managers promised they could park here,” Zander DeSoto, a Trump rally attendee, told WBTV. “Some of the people there even gave money to the people inside.”

To top it off, the people who were towed from the Dunkin’ parking lot had to pay hundreds of dollars to the towing company to recover their cars.
“There’s something very fishy going on here because I’ve never seen anything like this happen before,” one attendee told WBTV.
Another man said that when he went to confront the Dunkin’ manager, store employees locked the doors and refused to let him out.

“The whole parking lot is gone… everyone,” he explained. “They locked the doors, they’re not answering our calls and they’re not even answering the window.”
One family told WBTV they traveled more than two hours to attend the rally and when they returned to their car afterwards, their car was gone.
Gotcha Towing & Recovery, the company responsible for towing cars from the parking lot, told WBTV there was a sign warning that illegally parked cars would be removed.

The towing company added that the store manager contacted them to ask them to remove the vehicles from his property and that the only way for people to get their cars back was to pay the $380 towing fee.
