Shoppers looking to squeeze the most features out of a sub-$1,000 budget should look to Eufy’s new flagship model. With small obstacle avoidance and a fully autonomous cleaning system, the X10 Pro Omni is far more autonomous than the similarly priced model Roomba Combo j7+ Or Roborock Q8 Max+The X10 Pro Omni has incredible battery life even when using its highest suction mode, making it ideal for tackling large areas or multiple floors without needing to charge.
If your home is like shopping writer Leah Stodart’s, where chaotic under-bed storage and extension cords make it difficult to keep many robot vacuums running when you’re not home, you’ll want to prioritize AI-powered small obstacle avoidance, like Eufy did with the X10 Pro Omni.
Why we chose this:
Eufy’s CES 2024 entry is expected to be more expensive than it is. Not to be confused with the (less impressive, more expensive) Ecovacs Deebot X2 OmniThe Eufy X10 Pro Omni is the brand’s first self-emptying hybrid model that also automatically fills the water tank and automatically washes and dries the cleaning pads, all in that same self-emptying station. This fully autonomous cleaning system is a feature we’ve seen before, but one we’ve never really seen before under $1,000.
While its dual-spin cleaning pads are exceptional scrubbers, Eufy’s carpet cleaning deserves equal attention. On paper, 8,000Pa of suction is a beast whatever the price. In home testing, it successfully cleaned a large pile of intentionally spilled rice on a medium-pile carpet and soil from a flat-weave carpet. It only had trouble thoroughly cleaning a spilled flour stain, but a powdery stain shouldn’t be a common occurrence.
Stodart discovered an issue that prevents Eufy’s impressive suction power from cleaning to its full potential. Its obstacle-avoidance camera was working so hard to avoid getting stuck that it mistook a small, fluffy bath mat for an item of clothing and abandoned part of the bathroom, leaving the cat litter strewn about untouched. Unfortunately, Eufy’s app doesn’t let you dismiss an obstacle that’s perceived as “wrong,” so the bath mat had to be moved.
