Vic Seixas, a two-time Grand Slam singles champion and Hall of Fame member, has died, according to the International Tennis Hall of Fame. He was 100.
The Hall said Seixas died Friday, but did not disclose the cause of death.
Seixas won Wimbledon in 1953 and the 1954 United States Championships (now the US Open) during a career that saw him reach number one in 1954. In total, Seixas won 15 Grand Slam titles, including five in doubles and eight in mixed doubles.
He was the oldest living Grand Slam champion and a Hall of Fame member.
Seixas played his last US Open in 1969 at the age of 45.
Seixas had a 38-17 record in Davis Cup play and was a three-time team captain. He had a 24-12 record in singles and 14-5 in doubles and was part of the winning 1954 team.
Seixas was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1971.
