A decision recently rendered episode of “Jeopardy!” has angry fans.
On Wednesday’s episode of the game show, Kelly Proulx answered a clue in the “Stunts” category. She added an extra “s” to the end of her answer, which was enough for host Ken Jennings to deny her points, which fans are calling “brutal.”
The clue read: “A Yosemite waterfall with a thin ribbon of water floating in the air like a sheer fabric is the name of this wedding outfit.”
Proulx replied: “What is Bridalveil Falls?”
“No, I’m sorry,” Jennings replied. “Actually, it’s Bridalveil Fall, so we couldn’t accept that. It’s, ‘What is a bridal veil?’”
Proulx did not win the game – she was the returning champion, but the considerable lead of her compatriot Isaac Hirsch, as well as the failure of all three competitors to correctly guess the Jeopardy Final clue, meant that his incorrect answer had not played a role in his loss.
Still, fans were upset by Jennings’ decision, complaining that it was a “brutal decision.”
“Kelly should hold a grudge over this,” one person wrote on the Reddit page “Jeopardy!”, while another called the ruling against her answer “extremely pedantic.”

Another comment read: “Wow, Kelly was robbed. That decision on Bridal Veil Fall/Falls was ridiculous. Adding the S seems to fall firmly into ‘yeah, we’ll take that’ territory.”
One person wrote: “I usually give judges a lot of deference, but I’m going to fuck the judges for this decision. There is no way to determine the “fall” index, so she got the required information right. This was really disgusting.”
Others explained that the problem was that the judges were only looking for the name of the garment, which was “wedding veil.” They argued that by choosing to give additional information in the form of the full name of the place, it was up to Proulx to be completely accurate, down to the letter.

Last week, fans of the long-running game show went wild over another clue – one involving actress Zendaya.
“Before making tennis hot in 2024, this star with the unique name was a guest on Disney Channel’s ‘Good Luck Charlie,'” the index read.
Although contestant Staci Garner correctly guessed Zendaya, the clue left viewers baffled since the actress only appeared in one episode of “Good Luck Charlie.”
“Jeopardy just incorrectly claimed Zendaya starred in ‘Good Luck, Charlie,’” one user wrote online on X.
Another wrote: “Zendaya wasn’t in ‘Good Luck, Charlie’… was she?”
“The crossover episode?” another X user asked.

Zendaya got her start as a child star on Disney’s “Shake It Up,” which aired for three seasons from 2010 to 2013. As noted, she portrayed her character on the show, Rocky Blue, in a single crossover episode.
