The BusinessCloud HealthTech 50 is an annual ranking that honors the UK’s most innovative startups, scaleups and established businesses in the health technology sector. The list highlights those at the forefront of developing personal and preventative healthcare solutions, as well as GP practice management and messaging platforms. This year, 14 DigitalHealth.London graduate companies secured a place in the top 50 rankings.
Chosen from a shortlist of 112 companies, the final ranking was determined through the evaluations of an expert jury and a public vote among BusinessCloud readers.
Ranked 4th: Light of life

Lifelight is a contactless technology that allows a mobile device to estimate blood pressure and pulse rate simply by using its built-in camera for 40 seconds. This innovation facilitates remote patient monitoring, driving scalability, efficiency gains and better health outcomes. Lifelight currently facilitates early detection of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in patients through self-service kiosks in health centers. It also allows individuals to monitor their blood pressure and, if necessary, receive appropriate care quickly.

Cera is Europe’s largest provider of digitally-focused home healthcare, offering care, nursing, telehealth and repeat prescriptions. Their mission is to enable people to live longer, healthier lives in the comfort of their own home, eliminating the need to go to the hospital. Cera’s team of carers and nurses now carry out more than 50,000 care visits per day on behalf of over 300 NHS and local governments – the equivalent in capacity of 50 NHS hospitals.

ImproveWell is an award-winning real-time feedback platform for healthcare improvement. ImproveWell makes it easy for organizations to collect continuous, real-time, actionable insights from the field to improve the staff experience and the quality of patient care.
Class 10th: Dr. Julien
Cohort 1 of the DigitalHealth.London accelerator
Dr. Julian is an innovative mental health care web platform and mobile app that increases accessibility to mental health care and includes multilingual features. They connect patients almost immediately to mental health therapists through secure video/audio/text appointments using a calendar-based appointment system. Patients have the choice of when they want their appointment to take place seven days a week, 365 days a year and at any time of day.
Class 12th: Accurx
Cohort 3 of the DigitalHealth.London accelerator
AccuRx provides a communications solution for primary care, enabling practices to communicate with their patients, collaborate as a team and coordinate care with other organisations. Chain SMS is used by over 900 practices across England to communicate with their patients, saving time and money. Chain Reception helps receptionists to refer patients efficiently.
Class 14th: Limbic
DigitalHealth.London Accelerator Cohort 6
Limbic has developed a web-based AI chatbot (Limbic Access) specifically aimed at NHS primary specialist care for mental illness – the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services. The software integrates with service websites by pasting just two lines of code and is able to filter referrals, collect patient information and improve accessibility to mental health support.

DigitalHealth.London Evidence Generator Bootcamp, Second Cohort
Thymia Apollo offers an AI solution for screening depression symptoms to diagnose or monitor patients (also remotely). Patients can be assessed objectively and reliably through gamified activities on their smartphones. With consent, the AI analyzes various characteristics of their voice, facial expressions, and in-game behavior. The solution also supports clinicians by working alongside them as a decision support tool, offering objective and reliable information on depression symptoms.
Class 16th: Doctor Doctor

DrDoctor is a platform created to improve communication between the NHS and patients. It does this through products such as a patient platform, video consultation features, appointment management, patient booking, digital letters, pre-clinical assessments and follow-up management.

Third cohort of the DigitalHealth.London accelerator
TellMi is a multi-award-winning app that makes it easier for young people with anxiety to talk about difficult things. Informed by psychological research, Tellmi is a fully moderated intervention that harnesses the power of peer support to encourage altruism as a scalable solution to declining youth mental health.

DigitalHealth.London Evidence Generator Bootcamp Cohort 1
The founder is currently participating in the DigitalHealth.London Leap program
MyMynd is a digital platform for personal wellbeing, powered by a confidential online behavioural health assessment. MyMynd’s clinically validated assessment provides a regular, detailed overview of users’ mental health (risks) and protective factors (resilience), including a curated range of resources, tools and one-on-one human support.

Surgery Hero’s perioperative program supports patients from the decision to operate through their recovery. The service combines specialized human care, personalized content, and cutting-edge technology to empower patients to take control of their health and overcome their surgery.

MedShr is a private and professional app and network for healthcare professionals to connect and learn through case discussions. Over 1.5 million members now use MedShr to discover, discuss and share clinical cases and medical images. MedShr works in partnership with HEE, NHS societies and groups across the UK.
Ranked 45th: Sweatcoin
DigitalHealth.London Accelerator Cohort 4
Sweatcoin encourages physical activity behavior changes through a mobile application. The app records the number of steps taken and converts them into reward points. These points can be redeemed for products, goods and services. Users are encouraged to walk more, leading to long-term, sustainable behavior change.
Ranked 46th: Second nature
DigitalHealth.London Accelerator Cohort 1
Second Nature is an online weight loss and behavior change program that helps users adopt long-term healthy lifestyles. Second Nature is actively commissioned by the NHS for several local type 2 diabetes contracts, the NHS National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) and the National Weight Management Service (WMS).
